Servoo Card

Client: Servoo Co
Role: UX Designer / Product Owner
Tools: SketchApp, InVision
Stack: WordPress, LAMP, AngularJS, API

Servoo Card is a simplified hybrid business card solution that offers the fastest booking solution for small and micro businesses using QR codes on traditional business cards. The challenge was that most booking platforms are expensive, have steep learning curves, and demand time that small business owners don't have. Additionally, these platforms often require significant effort to book a service with providers and are not optimized for mobile use.

To address these challenges, I developed a simplified, mobile-first approach that saves time and reduces management effort for business owners. I integrated a QR code with traditional business cards, allowing consumers to book services within 10 seconds of receiving the card. This not only streamlines the booking process but also reduces business card waste, making it an efficient and eco-friendly solution.

Role: Sole UX Designer (Contract)
Tools: SketchApp, InVision
Stack: HTML, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap AngularJS, API, JSON

PulseIQ provides energy management software for multifamily properties through IoT solutions. In 2020, I contributed to developing the web dashboard for their platform. I created a comprehensive design system and built an AngularJS front-end web application to process data from their IoT readers. Additionally, I translated the data into graphical views using D3 and C3.js libraries.

NielsenIQ
BI Tool

Client: Nielsen Solutions
Role: Sr UX Designer (Contract)
Tools: Figma, Miro, UserZoom

NielsenIQ is one of the leading providers of BI tools, helping retail trading partners understand the complex consumer landscape through data, analytics, and technology. From 2021 to 2022, I collaborated with Dr. UX at Nielsen on the NielsenIQ Data Selector tool, which is the core of their BI tool.

During this period, we transformed the legacy solution with modern touches, enhancing not only its look and feel but also improving the data selection workflows to make them more granular and effective. Our updates marked the first major upgrade to NielsenIQ in two decades.

One of the challenges I faced was the limited real estate available for displaying extensive data attributes. Understanding omni-data was crucial to simplifying the interface. I also contributed to Nielsen's design system by developing sidebar elements. After several rounds of user testing, we successfully shipped the updated product, resulting in a significantly improved and user-friendly tool.

Ostrato

CloudSM
Client: Ostrato
Role: Full-Time UX Designer
Tools: UXPin, Balsamiq
Stack: HTML, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap AngularJS, API, JSON

Ostrato was a high-tech startup in the cloud sector, specializing in helping large organizations save on their cloud spending with their solution, Ostrato CloudSM. The solution allowed organizations to schedule cloud server usage across multiple cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and others. The process of managing these multiple cloud instances was complex. Through numerous iterations, I simplified the instance controller to make it as user-friendly as possible. This simplification was crucial in improving the user experience and efficiency of the solution. Eventually, Ostrato was acquired by Turbonomic, and CloudSM evolved into ParkMyCloud, continuing to provide cost-saving solutions for cloud resource management.

Oracle
Daily Reports

Oracle has multiple Global Business Units (GBUs), one of which is the Construction and Engineering Global Business Unit (CEGBU). Over my four years working with CEGBU, I contributed to several construction field solutions and was heavily involved in acquisition integrations. One of my primary responsibilities was owning the Daily Reports feature within the Oracle | Aconex solution.

Daily reports are critical on any construction site as they serve as the legal documentation of daily activities. They track issues, material deliveries, and overall site progress. The daily report allows project owners to monitor daily progress and identify the causes of any incidents, providing a clear and concise overview of the day's activities and helping to ensure the project's smooth operation and legal compliance.

Avionte
Change Card & Loyalty Program

Avionte is one of the leading providers of staffing software solutions for staffing agencies. I served as the lead UX designer, working closely with our project manager and IT technician. Our task was to integrate Avionte's new features: the CHANGE Card and a Loyalty Program for talents, each developed over a six-week period.

I encountered numerous technical challenges during this project. To address these, I immediately began understanding the goals and familiarized myself with Avionte's systems, as well as the new feature systems, including FIS, RFS, and the Blackhawk delivery management system. Despite the complexities, we successfully delivered the solutions on time every six weeks.

As a result, Avionte now offers the CHANGE Card to staffing agencies, and the Loyalty Program effectively encourages talents to use their CHANGE Card more frequently.

Tools and skills

I am familiar with most of the UX tools available on the market, including Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD, UXPin, Balsamiq, and UserZoom. However, my favorite tools are a Moleskine notebook and a nice pen for sketching out initial ideas. Additionally, I am proficient in spinning up servers on AWS or Google Cloud, and I can write applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with a MySQL and PHP backend.
